    Aripiprazole is a dopamine D2-receptor antagonist that has been used clinically as an antipsycholic  agent since 1999. It is available as the free base in 2-30 mg tablets or a 1mg/ml solution for oral  administration and a 7.5mg/mL solution for intramuscular. Adult oral doses are nomally within a range  of 10-30 mg once daily. Intramuscular doses of 5-15 mg may be given as needed up to a daily total of  30mg. Adverse reactions include headache, nausea, insomnia, somnolence and blurred vision. A  single oral labeled dose of aripiprazole in the urine (25%) and feces (55%), largely as products of  biotransformation.
